It’s the 1920’s Prohibition banned drinking in bars and restaurants, but, secret jazz clubs and illegal speakeasies opened up all over.
It was the era of the flapper, when woman excelled, wearing shorter dresses, drinking alcohol, and enjoying their sexual freedom. When gentlemen were resplendent in their sartorial elegance.
